Dabur Strengthens Fight Against Spurious Products Makers
Raid conducted on manufacturers of spurious Dabur Amla Hair Oil; Over 12,000 fake bottles, 75,000 labels of Dabur Amla Hair Oil seized

Stepping up its efforts to curb the menace of counterfeit products in the market, India’s leading FMCG Company Dabur India Ltd, along with local authorities, has busted a racket involving manufacture of spurious Dabur Amla Hair Oil in the national capital.
Raids were conducted by officials of Delhi Police on two units involved in the manufacture & printing of fake Dabur Amla Hair Oil bottles and labels. The raids conducted at Modern Bazaar, Gali Petiwali, Sadar Bazar and 5657, Gali No. 7, Multani Dhanda, Pahar Ganj also led to the arrest of the accused - Surender Jain & Munawar Ali.
An FIR has also been filed (No. 166 of 2008) and registered with the Pahar Ganj Police Station. During this raid, around 75, 000 labels of Dabur Amla Hair Oil, (100 ml. & 200 ml.), 4 Master Plates and 2 offset machines have been seized. From the premise of Surender Jain, over 11,000 bottles of Dabur Amla were seized.
Dabur India has been targeting counterfeit products manufacturers across the country. Through the initiatives of Dabur India, raids have been conducted in Delhi, Kolkata, Agra amongst other cities. Goods worth over Rs One Crore have been seized so far through these raids.
A Dabur India spokesperson said the Company is targeting spurious and fake products manufacturers in a planned manner. Leads have been obtained on packaging and label suppliers as well, and Dabur India will spare no efforts to get them behind bars. Such counterfeit products, besides endangering the lives of people who use them, are causing an annual loss of several thousand crores to the national exchequer.
