Tweet-- Tamilnadu Investors' Association (SEBI SPONSORED BODY, GOVT. OF INDIA) was formed in 1989 by Late Mr. K Kannan, founder and President for the purpose of educating the small investors, protecting the interests of investors and thus making investors a Smart Investor. It is the first investor Association Registered/ Recognized by SEBI. TIA is registered under the Societies Registration Act of Tamilnadu. TIA is governed by an elected "Committee of Members" The present situation for the consumer/investors resulting in continuing fragmentation of the regulatory structure reinforces the need for an integrated regulatory and supervisory structure and, in particular, the need for a single, strong, effective, self regulatory organization that will operate on a national basis and in which membership will be compulsory for all who provide investment advisory and financial planning services to the public. Tamilnadu investors is registered with "Ministry of Company affairs under the scheme of investors Education and Protection fund (IEPF)" The objective of TIA is to convert "Small Investor" to "Smart Investor" TIA has a mission:-
1. Aid public awareness of how the investment should be made- creation of awareness
2. Educating the investors by improving their awareness- Investor Education
3. Finally, investor protection
We keep inviting eminent speakers from Capital Market to speak at our seminar. WE also invite Regulator to speak to the investor for them to understand the concern of our investors. We deal predominantly on capital market related activities as we are registered with Securities and exchange Board of India. We are of the opinion that financial literacy is an important mission to our organization which if we could achieve the one of our objectives is full filled. We have a committee elected duly which in turn elects office bearers to take care off the functioning of our organization The organization is in existence for over 20 years.
