Mumbai, Maharashtra, November 27, 2009 /India PRwire/ -- The Nielsen Company announced the appointment of Shubhranshu Das as the Regional Head for its New Global Financial Services Practice in South Asia. Shubhranshu joined Nielsen in 2008 and is based out of Mumbai. He has over 20 years experience in Marketing, Advertising and Market Research at companies such as Wipro Ltd, Siemens Telecom, SRF Ltd and Contract Advertising. He also led the Financial Services Sector in TNS India. Shubhranshu joined NFO India in their Stakeholder Relationship Management group in 2002. Bruce Paul, Vice President, Consumer Research, The Nielsen Company who leads the practice globally said, "The newly founded Global Financial Services Practice group has experienced tremendous growth in the past few months despite global cuts in spending and the extreme turmoil in the industry. To continue our growth and capitalize on the opportunities in a rapidly reconstituting market we have appointed strong regional leaders to run the show."

Nielsen globally has been catering to research requirements of marquee finance industry clients since past four decades and in India it has been catering to the research needs of the Indian Finance Industry since the commencement of liberalization in 1991 and has a dedicated team for financial research. But with changing times and the world turning into a global village there is need for a global vertical that would service the individual requirements of clients.

"With the inception of Nielsen's Global Financial Services Practice we will integrate the global best practices and solutions. It would also help us leverage the widespread Nielsen expertise in the finance sector. The integration will further strengthen Nielsen's proficiency in financial services related research and will make Nielsen's financial resources available globally to clients who can use them for their research, be it in any country, " said Shubhranshu Das, Director - Consumer Research, The Nielsen Company.

Nielsen India has received extensive support and patronage from the industry and has been conducting several surveys like Life 2000, Money Monitor, Insurance health track and Brand health track, which are immensely popular amongst clients. The Global Financial Services Practice will further help build proprietary products by bringing expertise from different regions and countries together. It will help design contemporary products for the industry that will deliver research requirements that are increasingly becoming global in nature today.
