Bengaluru, Karnataka, November 3, 2014 /India PRwire/ -- It is not new that the influential visual medium be used to educate and enthrall children. But for a film festival to attempt it at a state wide range is a first, for India, if not the world.

The week-long festival is organized by the Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy on behalf of the Government of Karnataka, along with the Dept. of Information and Public Relations, Dept. of Public Instructions and the Dept. of Women and Child Development. The 1st edition of Karnataka International Children's Film Festival (KINCHIFF) is to take place between November 14, 2014 and November 20, 2014.

KINCHIFF is a first of its kind, with synchronized screenings throughout the state of Karnataka. It is a non-profit festival, and an attempt to bring the world closer to our children through the medium of film.

  • The primary audiences for the festival are children from government schools. The audience will also include teachers, educators, and delegates involved in film production
  • With synchronized screenings in 30 district centers
  • Of 15 films from India and abroad
  • For 7 days
  • Employing UFO technology for direct beaming into participating theatres.

District Committees, headed by respective District Commissioners are set to ensure that the screenings take place smoothly.

KINCHIFF, 2014 is a test run. Based on the data received from the 30 centers, it will be set to expand into a full-fledged festival in the ensuing edition. We look forward to everyone's co-operation in this venture.
