Camlin Limited introduces Fabrica, a range of non-toxic to top Ganesh idol makers in Mumbai and Pen

Dadar, Maharashtra, July 12, 2010 /India PRwire/ -- Camlin Ltd, market leader in stationery and art segment, arranged a unique gathering of leading Ganesh idol makers from Mumbai and Pen at Dadar on Saturday, July 10. The initiative was to inform and guide Idol makers about Fabrica - Camlin's non-toxic range of colours.

Ganesh festival is the biggest event in Maharashtra for which idol makers across the state produce of thousands of idols of big and small sizes. These artists create variety of idols from clay, POP material and traditionally paint it with paints containing mercury, cadmium, lead and carbon enter our water bodies. Over 1.5 lakh big and small idols are immersed in lakes, rivers and the sea bodies in Mumbai every year.

For the first time, idol makers were given live demonstration of a new eco-friendly alternative. Camlin's new Fabrica fluorescent acrylic colours is a new, green alternative for colouring Ganesh idols. The technical demonstration and the application of these colours were given by Camlin's R&D officers. Fabrica colours are organic in nature, dissolve fast and are easy to apply thanks to its smooth flow.

The response for this event was overwhelming and around 100 idol makers attended despite of their busy schedule.

Camlin officials welcomed the idol makers and briefed them on the company's wide range of art products. Exchanging ideas with the officials, the excitement amongst the idol makers was evident. Many artists opined that such interactive meetings should be organized every year as it helps them to enhance their knowledge about growing trends in the art colour industry.

Besides developing colours, Camlin has also given impetus to art related activities like art camps and art tours to promote and nurture art in India.
