This three day event was inaugurated by Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam. After the felicitation Dr. Kalam addressed the audience with his speech on 'India, The Road Ahead'
Vishwa 2009, promoted by The Institute for Studies in Vedic Sciences; was taken forward by eminent speakers as they discussed various topics such as Spirituality, Environment, Technology, Media and Education.
At the conference Dr. APJ Kalam said "I am delighted to participate in the inauguration of Vishwa 2009 organised by ISVS with the theme "Sustainability - A reality". I am happy that Vishwa has a vision to become an enabler and the platform for bringing together world class eco-friendly solutions"
As a key note speaker for Vishwa 2009 Dr Kalam spoke about "Sustainability: A national mission"
Dr. Purshottam Rajimwale, Director, ISVS believes that, "The collective psyche and conscience of the world needs to shift towards the green revolution. In fact, this could save the day and secure the future of our children. Many countries around the world are now taking up green issues a lot more seriously. Vishwa 2009 is a step taken to make Indian people understand the importance of a GREEN REVOLUTION, to make mother Earth a safer planet to live in".
Yogendra Vora, the convener of Vishwa 2009 says, "A safe environment program begins with a "code of conduct" for all Individuals. A "code of conduct" establishes acceptable behavior that is legal, professional and in favour of the environment."
Vishwa - 09 has strategically arranged a panel discussion after each session which will serve as a platform to exchange information, increase awareness and dialogue between the audience and speakers.
