A candle light march demands world leaders to make constructive decisions towards mitigating climate change

-- WWF's Vote Earth is a worldwide call for action by individuals, communities and corporations to create a groundswell of support for climate change. To convey the concern of the common man on the street, WWF-India hosted a candle light vigil bringing on board passionate youth from across the city to participate and support the cause Climate change and global warming have assumed centre stage as the world is looking up to the Copenhagen summit, where the world leaders are searching for a solution to save the planet from climate catastrophe and to ensure that the summit reaches a FAB (Fair, Ambitious and Binding) deal.
The candle light march saw large participation of school children, college students and volunteers at the Constitutional club,New Delhi, to express their solidarity towards action against climate change.. The eclectic fusion band, 'Advaita' will also ring out in support for the cause. This is symbolic of the attempts made by civil society to call for a real deal at Copenhagen as world leaders meet to decide our planet's future.
According to Dr Sejal Worah, Programme Director, WWF-India, "While our policy leaders negotiate in Copenhagen, it is extremely important for us to show that we are also looking forward to them coming up with an equitable solution to the climate problem. This vigil is a small step of our support and a large leap towards engaging the youth of tomorrow who will inherit this planet from us"
