Mumbai, Maharasthra, October 7, 2011 /India PRwire/ -- The 17th International Children's Film Festival will be organized by CHILDREN'S FILM SOCIETY INDIA (CFSI), which is going to be held from the 14th November to the 20th of the same month, will be held at Shilpramum, Hyderabad.

In the Festival, 741 films of 86 countries had been submitted out of which 170 films of 44 countries were selected. It is the first time that such a number of countries have participated in the festival.

According to CEO of Children's Film Society, India Sushovan Banerjee "For the children aged between 3 to 16 years of age, this film festival has feature films like Iran's "The Other", France's "Tales Of The Night", China's "The Star And The Sea", Denmark's "The Great Bear", India's "Chillar Party", "Stanley Ka Dabba", and "I Am Kalam". Along with the feature films of various countries, many short films have also participated in the festival."

The competition has been divided into 4 parts, where International level's 15 films, national level's 10 films, 25 short films (International/National) have been selected. 10-12 films of small directors have been selected along with the said categories. This is the first time that films directed by children (3-16 years) have been selected and the jury for the same is also different.

Two other sections have also been made in which the 100 best films of the last decade will be shown. This section is known as Children's World. Besides this, another section is also made where films directed by China's Children's Film Association.

Both the national and international level films will be given the same amount of reward and trophy. Best feature film will be given Rs. 2 lac and a golden elephant trophy, 1st runner up feature film will be given Rs. 1 lac and a trophy, best director will be given Rs. 1.5 lac and a golden elephant trophy, best script will be given Rs. 1 lac and a trophy. Besides this, best feature film for the Children's Jury award winner will be given a golden elephant trophy.

Best short film will be given Rs. 1 lac and a golden elephant trophy, the runner up will be given Rs 50 Thousand and a golden elephant trophy and the film chosen by the Children's Jury will be given a golden elephant trophy. Also, films directed by children will be awarded with a golden elephant trophy.

International Children's Film Festival (ICFFI) is also famous as Golden Elephant in India. It is a festival held every two years through which the children of the world are shown various films of best quality. The films are feature length, short films and animation films. Thousands of children and around hundred film directors and producers attend this festival.
