Anupam Kher invited to speak at Cambridge University

After being acknowledged as one of the finest actors & actingteachers in India, his accomplishments have reached the International audience as well. It isexactly for the privilege of those international fans that he has been invitedby the prestigious Cambridge Universityin UK to give a lecture to the students and participants of the 29thCambridge Film Festival. Mr Kher will bespeaking on ‘How to Build and Orchestrate Trans-national Creative Networks’ toa varied audience of students, participants and other luminary’s from various fields. Mr Kher, who is increasingly attaining global stature of immensemagnitude by being offered roles by award winning directors like Ang Lee andWoody Allen, will be speaking on September 19 at CambridgeUniversity’s Judge Business School, against thebackdrop of a larger theme on opportunities for the West as Bollywood goesglobal.
The lecture and panel discussions are running intandem with the 29th Cambridge Film Festival. First established in1977, the Cambridge Film Festival has been committed to delivering high qualityindependent films to the widest possible audience. Bold and imaginative in itspresentation of films, the Festival embraces the latest technology, while alsoshowcasing its passion for the heritage of cinema. Since2007, theFestival has been run by a registered charity, theCambridge Film Trust,as the highlight of a year-round programme of events that aim to bringchallenging and provocative cinema to Cambridgeand the Eastern region.
Mr Kher not onlytakes time off his very hectic scheduleto personally impart some of his acting secrets to tomorrow’s actors andsuperstars in his dream project ActorPrepares, but has now started this latest addition to his fine teachinghaven by organizing performing arts events every weekend. It is because of hiskeen intellect and thorough understanding of the performing arts that he hasstarted this latest weekly venture. After opening branches in Chandigarhand Ahmedabad, he has gone international with his school by becoming the firstactor to open a professional acting school in London;no less inassociation with Ealing Media Schooland Heathrow City Partnership.
This school hasproduced many of the finest actors of the Indian Film Industry, including theyouth and gorgeous actress- DeepikaPadukone. Many internationally acclaimeddirectors such as Slumdog Millionaire’s DannyBoyle and Shekar Kapur of Elizabethfame have lavished accolades on Anupam Kher’s ‘Actor Prepares’. ActorPrepares currently has 3 branches namely Ahmedabad, Chandigarhand London. Theschool also has a sizeable collection of films and books/journals to facilitatethe learning of cinema. Actor Prepares also has a Talent Placement agency,which is constantly called upon by major film and television productioncompanies to refer actors and actresses for their projects.
It is no surprise that Mr Kherwas chosen as one of the speakers in the highly acknowledged and world renownedfestival.
