Celebrating the spirit of the Pujo, BIG 92.7 FM will be running “Trinayanar Khonje” an on-air contest wherein listeners get the opportunity to nominate the Trinayana from their locality who truly embodies the spirit of Ma Durga. Listeners can sms their nominations to 55454 by typing pujo space and the details of their nominee. The winners selected from these entries will be felicitated for their achievements in their localities and will also get to host the shows with BIG 92.7 FM RJs during the three days of Pujo and celebrate dashami on ground with traditional sindoor khela atop the specially created BIG 92.7 FM decorative mobile float.
BIG 92.7 FM will also celebrate the only sound that reverberates during Pujo by felicitating the best dhaki from in and around Kolkata in a mega contest “Baajiye Dhak Lagaao Taak”in association with Nokia XpressMusic. More than hundred pujo committees have already registered for this contest, which will kick start on panchami when celebrity artistes will start their parikrama of the city and record the dhakis in action in their respective pandals. Sixteen selected finalists will perform in the Mega final on navami afternoon at Ahiritala Sarbojanin to decide the winner of this contest with total prize money of Rupees One lac to be shared between the performer and the committee he represents.
BIG 92.7 FM has also lined up Odero Pujo, an on air campaign to collect new clothes for underprivileged children and will take them for pandalhopping and luncheon treat on panchami day. The radio station is also an associate sponsor of the Shera Samajkalyan award that identifies the pujo committee with the best social motive that will make a difference to the lives of the underprivileged. BIG 92.7 FM also has alliance with twenty five best pandals of Kolkata and will broadcast live from these places .In keeping with its brandline BIG 92.7 FM has also started an award category of the shera Jomjomati Pujo in Kolkata.
