"EA Amplify Artist Search" contest offers a chance to win a SONY BMG record deal, track in an upcoming EA game, and a host of prizes to all aspiring artists in Asia looking for a big break

Electronic Arts, the world’s leading interactive entertainment software company, today announced the launch of “EA Amplify Artist Search”, a pan-regional search for the hottest emerging bands from the Asia Pacific region, hosted in collaboration with partners SONY BMG, AXN, Gibson, Microsoft, and Motorola. The competition will be open to residents of Hong Kong, India, Japan, Korea, Mainland China, Singapore, South Africa, Taiwan, and Thailand, and will start accepting entries on EA’s music community portal (“EA Amplify” www.EAamplify.com) from Tuesday, May 1, 2007.
“EA Amplify Artist Search” contest welcomes all unsigned bands or artists from across the Asia Pacific region to showcase their music and profile on the EA Amplify Web site, and compete for the Regional Grand Prize—which could be the break-through into the big time of their dreams! The winning band of the Regional Grand Prize will have a chance to sign a record deal with major record label SONY BMG, as well as get their track in one of EA’s upcoming blockbuster videogames for worldwide release.
The Regional Grand Prize winner will be selected out of Country Finalists (Finalist and Runner-up Finalist) from each of the participating countries. In addition to proceeding to the Regional Grand Prize selection, Country Finalists will receive a host of glamorous prizes provided by Artist Search partners, including an Epiphone Les Paul Custom Guitar from Gibson, an Xbox 360 videogame and entertainment system from Microsoft, and a MOTOROKR E2 mobile phone from Motorola.
The competition will be supported by exclusive media partners Animax and AXN.

How To Enter
To enter the Artist Search competition beginning Monday, May 1, 2007, bands and artists of 2 persons or more will need to visit the EA Amplify music community portal (www.EAamplify.com). After creating an EA Amplify account (registration free of charge), entrant to the competition must visit Artist Search competition page to submit their song (MP3 format only) and band profile.
Contest Period
Entries are accepted between May 1, 2007 and June 1, 2007.
Announcements
Winner announcements will be made on EA Amplify Web site as well as notified to individual winners according to the following schedule:
- Country Finalists: on or around June 11, 2007
- Regional Grand Prize winner: on or around June 18, 2007
Contest Judges
The judging panel of Country Finalists will be comprised of local representatives from EA, SONY BMG, Animax, Gibson, Microsoft, and Motorola of each participating country. The judging panel of Regional Grand Prize winner will be comprised of regional representatives from EA and SONY BMG.
