Kolkata, West Bengal, July 14, 2010 /India PRwire/ -- In its endeavor to offer world-class technology to its consumers, Toshiba has launched its new range of LED TVs in the Indian market. The new Toshiba REGZA backlit LED TVs XL700 series comes in three sizes, 138.7cms (55XL700E), 117.5cms (47XL700E) and 106.7cms (42XL700E), and will continue to amaze you with its power-packed Toshiba technologies. With a metallic-feel finishing bezel, and slim design, the XL700 makes your living room look better.

The XL700 series aims to create a better visual performance by producing Better Details, Better Gradation and Better Clarity. With Toshiba's proprietary Resolution+ technology, the details of images are drastically improved through complex analysis and refinement during the up conversion process. Coupled with its brilliant Meta Brain Premium Video Engine and its blazing-fast 14-bit video processing, the gradation of images has never looked better on your big screen until the XL700 came. The XL700 Series also features Auto Signal Booster to compensate for areas where the signal reception is weak, giving you better clarity. The result is excellent picture quality at all times no matter where your TV is placed.

Speaking on Toshiba's recent association with Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar, Mr. Kenji Urai, Managing Director, Toshiba India Private Limited said, "We have constantly directed our efforts towards providing products which are a mix of technology, style and quality. Delivering best of the technology and path breaking innovation has always been our priority. Our new Regza series aims at redefining the TV viewing experience in India. We are confident that our association with Sachin will further strengthen our brand positioning in the Indian subcontinent and will enhance our brand recall across the various segments."

This edge LED-backlit XL700 Series is also equipped with a host of other innovative technologies that shape the superior audio and video quality that one has come to expect from Toshiba. ClearScan Pro100 produces smoother images by eliminating motion blur while Autoview uses a built-in ambient light sensor and intelligent algorithms to ensure that whatever the lighting or time of day, your TV picture parameters are adjusted for optimal viewing. These are complemented by Toshiba's Intelligent Backlight Control technology, which allows automatic adjustment of the backlight behind the pixel array using a sophisticated histogram analysis to give you deeper blacks, finer gradations and higher contrast.

Speaking on the launch, Pranab Mohanty, Business Head, Consumer Product Division, Toshiba India said, "With the Launch of LED-Backlit Series our LCD TV line-up has become stronger in India and now the customers have the choice to choose between LED -Backlit and CCFL -Backlit LCD TVs. With our Advanced Technology and Superior Design coupled with the imagery of Sachin, our brand ambassador is sure to place Toshiba at the helm of the FPD market in the country."

Completing the cinematic experience is the Audyssey EQ, a powerful acoustic correction system which delivers crystal clear audio quality by fine-tuning common problems of distortion which arise when sound from the speakers is reflected and absorbed by walls, windows and various objects in the room. This creates a wider field of sound that is ideal no matter where you are seated in the room.

The XL700 is conveniently outfitted with four HDMI inputs, a USB port and SD slot together with JPEG, MP3 and Movie (DivX®) Playback Functions, offering multiple media playback for an enjoyable all-in-one entertainment experience.

Toshiba REGZA XL700 Series - truly the LED to watch out for.

For Better Details - Resolution +

  • An intelligent feature that elevates standard definition images up to high definition quality. A standard image is first up scaled to HD-level resolution then down scaled for comparison before eliminating the differences, such as noise, that degrades the original image. Resolution+ also analyses and refines the picture to improve the rendering of edges, textures and depth. This ensures that the image you view is much closer in quality to the HD image and with better details.

For Better Gradation - Meta Brain Premium with 14-bit video processing

  • Enjoy the finer gradation and details in every picture as the majesty of dramatic cinematic reality unfolds brilliantly before you. The Meta Brain Premium video engine produces ultra-sharp images with natural gradations, textures and colours. Its 14bit video processing greatly boosts gradation levels to from 1024 steps to an amazing 16284 steps, resulting in a much smoother and more natural picture. It even analyses every pixel to create the highest possible contrast to bring you remarkably lifelike images with better gradation.

For Better Clarity - Auto Signal Booster

  • With a weak signal reception, even the best TVs cannot maximize their performance. Toshiba's built-in Auto Signal Booster improves the sensitivity to weak radio frequency (RF) signal. Images become clearer when the RF signal is strengthened during weak signal reception.

The XL700 series will range between Rs 1,20,000 to Rs 2,30,000 and would be available in India from end of July 2010
