India Semiconductor Association (ISA) along with IT Department, Government of Karnataka & UK Trade and Investment announces "ISA Vision Summit 2010"

India Semiconductor Association (ISA), the apex trade body representing the Indian semiconductor industry, along with the IT Department, Government of Karnataka announced the 5th ISA Vision Summit 2010,

Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, January 27, 2010 /India PRwire/ -- India Semiconductor Association (ISA), the apex trade body representing the Indian semiconductor industry, along with the IT Department, Government of Karnataka announced the 5th ISA Vision Summit 2010, scheduled for 1st & 2nd February at the Taj West End, Bangalore. Vision Summit 2010 is positioned as a high-powered global leadership forum for the Indian electronics industry and will focus on the Indian market which will provide the momentum for growth in the new decade.

In the briefing session organized by ISA, the following speakers addressed the media:

In addition to existing initiatives to encourage upcoming talent in the semiconductor industry, ISA also announced the Technovation Awards 2010 to recognize innovation and achievement in the dynamic and evolving Indian electronics industry.

Mr. Aravind Jannu, IAS, while addressing the media said that Govt. of Karnataka is committed to growth of the Electronics Systems Design and Manufacturing industry. Govt of Karnataka is happy to host this event in Bangalore. He further added that his Dept. is working with ISA to formulate a Semiconductor Policy which includes measures to retain the competitive edge of the State in semiconductor design, high tech manufacturing and attract investments.

Mr B V Naidu said that "This Vision Summit marks the beginning of the new decade- a decade of the new growth driven by the Electronics Systems and Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) in our country. This is happening at a time when the Govt. of India and Govt. of Karnataka are deliberating on the new policy announcement, based on the recommendation by ISA to make the Indian Electronics Systems Design& high tech Manufacturing industry play a significant role in the $400 billion opportunity by 2020. This decade is going to be the opportunity of "Indian innovation, Indian product designs for Indian manufacturing for Indian markets". "ISA has put together a great programme for this Vision Summit to reflect this sprit," he added.

Dr. Pradip K. Dutta shared specific details of the Vision Summit and said that, "Vision Summit 2010 will see a convergence of industry thought leadership and business innovation momentum inherent with the growth of the India market. The conclave will feature speakers from India and overseas, highlighting the dynamics of the local market and its potential in the new decade. We will hear from systems companies engaged in high growth areas with huge local potential such as healthcare electronics, renewable energy and smart governance."

Mr. Anil Gupta, talking about the Technovation awards adds, "'Technovation 2010 - Celebrating Excellence in Electronics' have been constituted with an aim to recognize role models and excellence in not just the semiconductor but also the greater electronics ecosystem - covering the whole electronics value chain. UK is one of the countries that ISA has close business links with. UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) has a strategic partnership with ISA to help UK's high-tech innovative companies engage with the ISA members. Experts from leading UK organizations such as TTP, PowerOasis, Advanced Hall Sensors, ARM and the Scottish Microelectronics Centre will attend this conference.
