India's First BOT project in sugar co-operative sector
Tweet-- Shree Renuka Sugars Ltd, one of the leading sugar companies in India is setting up a bagasse based 30 MW co-generation power plant at DRK Panchaganga SSK, Ichalkaranji. This is India’s firstBOOT (Build Own Operate Transfer)project in sugar co-operative sector andwill be completed in only 14 months by September 2009. Shree Renuka Sugars are pioneers in leasing co-operative sugar factories and one of the proven examples is the successful completion ofthe lease of Ajara SSK, making it debt-free and handing itback to the society.
The pooja ceremony of a Steam Turbine was held recently at Panchaganga co-opreative sugar factory, Ichalkaranji at the hands of Mr. P.M. Patil, chairman Panchaganga SSK and Smt. Vidya Murkumbi, Chairperson, Shree Renuka Sugars Ltd.
Shree Renuka Sugarsis implementingco-generation projects on BOOT (Build Own Operate Transfer) basisin co-operative factories who are having bagasse butare not having financialcapacity to set up co-generation plants.This projectwillgenerate additional revenue for the factory and canegrowers and also help towardsvoltage stabilization and reduction ofelectric power problemsof the nearby villages. Shree Renuka Sugars Ltd. and Panchaganga SSK with its cane growershavecelebratedthe arrival ofSteam Turbo Generator Set imported from Shin Nippon Machinery Co. Ltd., Japan on14th July 2009at factory site of PanchgangaSSK and all the farmers and well-wishers have joined on this joyous occasion.
