Your Museum Store Adds New Shopping Cart Features

Tweet-- Your Museum Store, an online retailer from San Antonio based Bazaargains, recently announced the addition of a floating shopping cart and mini-cart to its online store. The online retailer uses the popular Yahoo! Merchant Solution store platform. Yahoo's most recent software release introduced this new feature which allows e-commerce sites on the Yahoo! Store solution to display a cart icon and customer shopping information, a feature that was at the top of Yahoo! Store merchant's wish list.
The mini-cart sits at the top left of every page on the site and provides a summary of shopping activity. Customers can click on the mini-cart to open up a floating shopping cart. From the floating shopping cart, customers can calculate shipping, apply coupon codes, view the total of their purchase and proceed to checkout.
Your Museum Store's website designer, Rob Mabry, called this a major milestone for the Yahoo! Merchant Solutions shopping cart software and applauded the new feature.
"It's exciting to see these innovations being added to the tools inside Yahoo! Merchant Solutions. This has always been a flexible platform for small businesses to enter into the world of e-commerce. We're excited about the new features we can offer our customers through this enhanced shopping cart," Mabry said.
The store designer pointed to the ability to calculate shipping and coupon code savings as the key benefits for customers who will no longer need to move to the checkout path to determine the total cost of their shopping spree.
"With the floating shopping cart, the customer is able to stay right at the page where they are shopping and still figure out how much their purchase is going to be. It's good for them because they understand how much they're going to spend, and good for merchants because it encourages online shoppers to shop to their hearts content," Mabry added.
