Samsung India, Global technology leader and Worldwide Olympic Partner, today concluded the ‘Samsung Olympic Games Quest 2008’, a Mega Quiz Contest on Olympic Games for school children, with the National Finals being held in New Delhi. Apeejay School from Mumbai emerged as the National winners, beating Kolkata’s St. James, Delhi’s New Era Public School and Bangalore’s National Center of Excellence schools in an exciting finish. The three member team from Mumbai’s Apeejay School represented by Pranav, B Venkat and Ronak Nagori emerged as Champions to win the coveted trophy of the ‘Samsung Olympic Games Quest 2008’ finals, at New Delhi on August 5th. VJ turned actor Gaurav Kapoor was the Quiz Master for this event.

The mega quiz competition that was held at Delhi’s Siri fort Auditorium began with the Delhi regional finals that witnessed participation from over 1500 school children competing with each other in a Preliminary written test. The six winning teams were then selected to participate in the Delhi Regional final round. With ‘Samsung Olympic Games Quest 2008’ Regional round in Delhi New Era Public School, Mayapuri emerged the winner of the Regional round beating five other Delhi schools in an exciting finish. The three member team from New Era Public School Era Public School represented by Prateek, Rohit and Sahil emerged as the Delhi Champions.

Prior to the Delhi Finals held today, Samsung Olympic Games Quest Regional Finals were held in Kolkata (July 22, 2008), Bangalore (July 24, 2008) and Mumbai (July 29, 2008). The winning schools from Kolkata - St James School, Bangalore- National Center for Excellence and Mumbai - Apeejay School were brought down to Delhi for the National Finals to compete with the Delhi Finalists for the coveted trophy.

The Winners of the National Finals Pranav, B Venkat and Ronak Nagoni and the winning school Apeejay Mumbai took home prizes from Samsung which included top of the line products like Digital camcorders (Champions), DVD Players (1st Runner up team) and MP3 Players(Teams that ranked 3 and 4). The regional winners of the Delhi finals Prateek, Rohit and Sahil won products like LCD monitors and LCD TV for their school, New Era Public School Era Public School. All the other regional finalists were given Samsung MP3 players.
