Known for his dignified unassuming personality, gleaming intellect, meticulous planning, deep regard for punctuality, gifted business acumen, and dynamic leadership, Dr. BM Mishra made an indelible mark in the field of education at Pilani. He breathed his last in the evening of Thursday, the 04th August, 2016 at Syracuse USA after a brief illness. His wife Dr Suman Mishra well known Gynecologist from Syracuse USA, his son Dr Gautam Mishra ophthalmologist Harrisburg, Pennsylvania along with his wife Smt Mridula and daughter Anjali performed rituals in a prayer meeting at Pilani on 23 Nov 2016.

On 24 Nov 2016, Smt Jamuna Mishra Academy JMA Pilani organized a cultural program and a band display in honour of the Mishra family who had not only come from USA but also from different parts of India. The School band did the ceremonial welcome fanfare for the dignitaries and Miss Parul Dhand of Class 11 anchored the proceedings. Principal Mrs Booma Natarajan in her welcome address profusely acknowledged the Mishra family for the continued support and said that it was befitting that 24 Nov 2016 being the last Thursday of the month has shaped up to be a Thanksgiving Day from the school teachers, staff and children. The Principal also urged the students to take inspiration from Dale Carnegie born 24 Nov 1888 who had authored several bestselling books which include "How to Win Friends and Influence People" as well as "How to Stop Worrying and Start Living". The welcome song played by the School Choir and Orchestra followed by the patriotic action song had the entire audience spell bound. The thought provoking mime depicting the changing attitude of people in past and present had everyone burst out laughing.

Mr Vishal Sheoran who secured first rank in Class 12 presently pursuing BTech Computer Science from BKBIET Pilani, Miss Komal Swami who secured second rank presently preparing herself for being a successful teacher as well as Nishita Tailor, Preeti Sheoran and Pooja Saini first second and third rank holders from Class 10 pursuing Science stream at their Alma mater won loud applause when they received their merit performance awards. Vishal in his address said that he took pride in being an alumnus of JMA Pilani thanked the school for all round shaping of his personality and character and promised to bring more honours to the school in coming years. The loudest applause seem to have been reserved for Mr Jaipal Singh Sanskrit Teacher and Ms Neha Gupta who is herself an alumnus of BITS Pilani holding a MSc(Tech) presently teaching English at JMA Pilani for bagging the best teacher awards. Mr Padmanabh Mishra and Mr BS Mishra did the honour of awarding the prizes.

Dr Gautam Mishra in his inspiring speech reiterated that change which is the only constant is inevitable and only those who are flexible and adaptable and use it as an opportunity for reflection and growth will be the ones who are destined to succeed. Dr Gautam specially thanked the Principal Mrs Booma Natarajan for her dedication, service and excellent work since the founding of the school in 2004. Mrs Jyoti Sharma niece of Dr BM Mishra read out a poem in honor and said that Dr Mishra indeed pursued his JMA Mission with passion and proved that there are indeed no dreams too large and no frontiers beyond reach.

The Yoga display was truly spectacular and Karate display full of action. The School girls band did a dazzling display of various formations and played the all time great tunes "We shall Overcome - Hum Honge Kamyab and Sare Jahan Se Acha had one and all asking for more which ended up as the National Anthem. Ms Kavita Tiwari proposed the customary vote of thanks. The entire gathering departed from the JMA playground with beaming faces and pride that they were part of an institution which is indeed a jewel in the crown among the schools at Pilani.
