-- At 5 Pm on Saturday 13 February 2010 the Lecture Theatre Complex - LTC at Birla Institute of Technology and Science - BITS Pilani was bustling with a huge crowd of faculty members and students to attend a very special event organized as part of Interface 2010 - a talk by famous Mumbai dabbawala. Kiran the Dabbawala from Mumbai in his hour long session had the audience eating out of his hands explaining the modus operandi of the Dabbawalas and their much acclaimed coding system. Its not just yet another lecture but One lecture which power packed the essence of what B Schools ought to be teaching on OB - Organizational Behaviour, SCM - Supply Chain Management, CRM - Customer Relationship Management, MIS - Management Information Systems, HRM - Human Resource Management, PM - Project Management, MM -Marketing Management, TQM - Total Quality Management and what not.
By preaching what they practice, the Mumbai Dabbawalas have indeed proved to be a cut above the rest of management gurus.
