Sharda University introduces short-term courses in clinical research for professionals
Sharda University (SU) has announced the introduction of two short-term courses in clinical research effective February 2010 and first session begins February 2010.
Tweet-- Keeping in mind the increasing demand of skilled professionals, Sharda University (SU) has announced the introduction of two short-term courses in clinical research effective February 2010. These courses are designed especially for working professionals.
On introducing courses for working professionals, Dr RP Singh, Vice Chancellor, Sharda University said, "With increasing demand for skilled professionals, many educational institutions have launched a number of short term courses in numerous subjects but that is not enough. We, at Sharda University decided on Clinical Research due to its significance and urgent need, and have embarked upon two additional short term courses, primarily targeting those who are unable to attend long term courses like PG Diploma / M. Sc. in Clinical Research due to paucity of time."
Sharda University's short-term courses in Clinical Research include a weekend certificate course (three months) and an intensive short-term certificate course (two weeks). These courses are specially designed for IN-SERVICE or OTHERWISE candidates with the following eligibility criteria:
- Graduate/post graduates qualified in medical and allied fields like dentistry, homeopathy, Ayurveda, veterinary and pharmaceutical sciences.
- Applicants working in Pharmaceutical industry/ Scientific Organizations/ Clinical Research Organizations (CRO)
- Any other candidate found suitable by Selection Committee.
Recently, first batch of 25 students of the Institute of Clinical Research at Sharda University were awarded a Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Research (PGDCR). More than half of the students have succeeded in getting placements in different organizations like Panacea Bio-tech, Wipro, Sharda University, amongst others.

Sharda University established the Institute of Clinical Research to fulfill its mission of producing knowledgeable and efficient professionals in various fields of medical sciences with clinical research being one of them.
