Sharda University organizes special faculty development programme session for school teachers, counselors

The session of faculty development programme held on January 22-23 at the South Extn office of Sharda University attracted 25 counselors and teachers from 12 schools

New Delhi, Delhi, January 27, 2010 /India PRwire/ -- With increasing competition and growing aspirations in life, everyone needs counseling at some point of time, especially students in schools who want to chart their future career, hone their skill sets or focus on personality development.

But first, for good counseling a school must have better counselors. And better counselors require excellent training. With a view to helping the school teachers and counselors, Sharda University held a special session of 'Faculty Development Programme on Career Counseling' for school teachers of senior secondary level and counselors. The session held on January 22-23 at the South Extn office of Sharda University attracted 25 counselors and teachers from 12 schools such as South Delhi Public School, Saint Thomas School and Vidya Jain School. Those who participated in the session got an opportunity to learn not only about their own aptitude but also novel techniques to measure the aptitude of students as well as personality profiling.

Talking about the programme, Professor VK Sharma, Director, Training and Development Department said, "Faculty development Programme' is meant for school teachers and counselors. During the session we shared our knowledge and information with them, so that it would help them understand the manner of rational counseling and solve the students' queries in a more informed and rational manner."

Other speakers included Mr PK Gupta, (Chancellor of Sharda University), Mr. Navaid Khan (President Sharda University) and other faculty members of the University.
