Prof. S. C. Agrawal, Director of School of Basic and Applied Sciences, Shobhit University Meerut has been awarded Distinguished Services Award by the Vijnana Parishad of India for his outstanding contribution to mathematics, National Development and Service rendered to the Parishad at the occasion of Inaugural Function of 13th Annual Conference of Vijnana Parishad of India on December 4, 2009 held at Jaypee Institute of Technology and Engineering, Raghogarh (Guna), M.P., India.

Agrawal, Director of School of Basic and Applied Sciences, Shobhit University Meerut has been awarded Distinguished Services Award by the Vijnana Parishad of India for his outstanding contribution to mathematics, National Development and Service rendered to the Parishad at the occasion of Inaugural Function of 13th Annual Conference of Vijnana Parishad of India on December 4, 2009 held at Jaypee Institute of Technology and Engineering, Raghogarh (Guna), M.P., India.

Before joining Shobhit University, Prof. Agrawal, a Ph.D. for IIT Kanpur, served Ch. Charan Singh University, Meerut as Dean, Faculty of Science; Dean, Faculty of Engineering; Professor & Head of Mathematics Department and Member of Academic Council.

Prof. Agrawal's overseas assignments include the Commonwealth Academic Staff Fellowship for one Academic year as Guest Member of Staff in the University of New-Castle-Upon Tyne, U.K. in 1972-73 and his visit to the University of Maiduguri, Nigeria from August 1981 to September 1984. Prof. Agrawal has attended a number of International Conferences in India and Abroad, has supervised 32 Ph.D. students and more than 75 M.Phil. students. His current Research Areas are Fluid Dynamics, Atmospheric Instability, Porous Media and the History of Mathematics. He is the Hon. Member, Board of Directors, Kundakunda Jnanapitha, Indore (Affl. To Devi Ahilya University, Indore), Ganini Gyanmati Shodh-Peetha (A Research Centre of Shobhit University on Jainology), Jamboo Dweep, Hastinapur, Meerut.

Vijnana Parishad of India is an international society dedicated to the applications of Mathematics in all fields of Science and Technology and as such it has a crucial role to play. It is the only society in India which is explicitly devoted to this goal. Vijnana Parishad of India" has a Reciprocity Agreement with American Mathematical Society. It is one of the five Indian Societies and one of thirteen Asian Societies, which have "Mutual Receprocity Agreement" with "American Mathematical Society". "Jnanabha" with the blessings of Prof. J.
