Tweet-- Podar Education Network, today announced the launch of Podar Primary Plus, a unique initiative to help students not completely at home with the English language.
Speaking to newspersons Dr. Pavan Podar, Trustee of the Podar Education Network explained that many parents in smaller towns and villages were keen to give their children a world-class education but are diffident about sending their children to an ICSE or CBSE school.
This is because the parents themselves are not proficient in the English language and feel that these curriculums will be too daunting for their sons and daughters. Yet, they have aspirations for their children and want a bright and brilliant future for them.
Dr. Podar added that Podar Primary Plus will address all apprehensions about a child's ability to learn in an English medium environment, even though the child comes from a family that is not at ease with the language.
In various Podar International Schools in Pune and other cities in Maharashtra, students will be initiated into the CBSE or ICSE syllabus through a dual-language teaching program which will help them to master academics with complete confidence.
The students in their earlier years would be taught both in English as well as their mother tongue. A lot of emphasis will be placed on mentoring, English speaking skills, social skills, life skills, sports and a wide range of extra curricular activity which is the hallmark of all Podar Schools.
If needed, after school extra classes will be provided to the students of Podar Primary Plus in order for them to cope with subjects such as Math and English. The Primary Plus curriculum will run from std I to std V, with the goal of the child merging into the mainstream CBSE/ICSE curriculum in Std VI.
All the Podar International Schools in Pune will offer the Primary Plus program in addition to the existing curriculum offered by them.
Besides the well-known Podar International Schools (PIS) at Pimpri and Chinchwad, two more PIS were opened at Ambegaon and Chakan in June, 2009. The Pimpri School offers the ICSE curriculum while the schools in Chinchwad, Ambegaon and Chakan provide the CBSE curriculum. The Chinchwad School offers the Cambridge board as well.
Mr Podar announced that in 2011, two more schools will be opened at Wakad and Bavdhan. All these schools will provide Pune students a world-class education option.
Podar International Schools also runs schools in Mumbai, Kalyan, Nerul, Pune, Nashik, Aurangabad, Jalna and Hassan. Additionally a PIS will be opening in Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Kolhapur, Sangli, Satara, Solapur, Jalgaon and Karad in June 2010. We are starting 25 more schools by 2011 across India, he added .
The renowned Podar Preschool, Jumbo Kids, is also present in all these schools. Podar Jumbo Kids is known to be a Preschool with a difference and has achieved much success all over India. Jumbo Kids has evolved a unique system of education, 'KIDUCATION' which means it follows the child's needs according to the child's developmental stage.
Mr. Podar further added that the Podar International Schools want to break the notion that only a select few can take advantage of a state-of-the-art education. The fee structure of PIS is set with the aim that the majority of the population can have access to its schools. Since its inception in 1927, Podar Schools have a tradition of never accepting any donations or deposits.
Furthermore, a scholarship scheme is in place for deserving cases which ensures no child, irrespective of his/her economic means, is denied a quality education.Incidentally, the fees charged for Podar Primary Plus would be lower than the normal CBSE/ICSE fees.
