Research and Technology Development Center, Sharda University awarded ISO 9001:2008 Certification for Quality Management System

New Delhi, Delhi, October 13, 2009 /India PRwire/ -- Sharda University (SU) today announced that the Research and Technology Development Center (SU-RTDC), the nodal center of SU, has been awarded ISO 9001:2008 certification, a quality management standard for its commitment to quality.

The certificate was received by Dr. RP Singh, Vice-Chancellor, SU, on behalf of Sharda University, from the ISO body Linear Management Solution and Certification Private Limited.

Commenting on the occasion, Dr. Singh said, “This milestone is an important accomplishment in SU’s ongoing efforts to provide quality education. In the coming years, this certification will be the basis of our foundation and endeavour in our campaign towards providing world-class education.”

“Our Research and Technology Development Center is responsible for fostering high-tech, avant-garde research activities pertaining to development of futuristic materials and devices with emphasis on optimisation of processes relevant to quality products,” he added.

Dr. S.K. Mishra , Director, R&D department said, “The certification was one of the targets set by RTDC in exercising processes to obtain high-tech products and research output through standard practices. ISO 9001:2008 was developed to help both product and service organizations achieve standards of quality that are recognized and respected throughout the world. Linear Management Solutions & Certification Pvt. Ltd. has issued the certificate after a rigorous and extensive survey of all the R & D processes at the Sharda University-Research and Technology Development Center.

About the Research and Technology Development Center

The Research and Technology Development Center is the nodal center at Sharda University. The center not only focuses on R & D activities but also executes M.Tech programmes in several branches of Science & Technology. The center has taken an

initiative to encapsulate teaching methodology for M.Tech Nanotechnology students. For the first time since its inception, ten students have been admitted for higher studies in the M.Tech Nanotechnology programme. These admissions are especially encouraging and noteworthy for the NCR region. These M.Tech students have also been addressed for their project and dissertation work by our collaborating foreign institutions one such example being CINEVISTAV, Mexico.
