CSR Activities at Sharda University
In another step towards corporate social responsibility, Sharda University students launched two unique initiatives -- Education Beyond Boundaries (EBB) and Color It Green.
EBB recently conducted an interactive session in which Mr. PK Gupta, Chairman Sharda Group of Institution and Mrs. Seema Gupta, Principal Promoter, NIP committee interacted with children of the neighbouring class-four employees’ colonies.
“Education Beyond Boundaries” is an attempt by Sharda University to educate class four employees. Preliminary research for this program has identified the following needs:
·Healtheducation
·Medical services
·Literacy
To take this programme forward EBB is in the process of commissioning an in-depth survey of employees living in the colonies. This will lead to the development of a chain-plan to meet their requirement. The thought behind this initiative is to:
- Empower a specific group of employees to improve effectiveness, impact and sustainability of their efforts
- Identify appropriate methods to meet their requirements.
- Make women self-dependent so that they can also contribute to the family income.
- Provide education to children through proper schooling so that they can become civilized and responsible citizens of the country.
- Create awareness with regard to hygiene and health.
Color It Green: This initiative works towards promotion of an eco-friendly environment at the Sharda University campus. Measures will be taken to ensure cleanliness, hygiene and sanitation within the surroundings and appropriate methodologies will be adopted to find an effective solution for waste management on the campus. The motive is to ‘Regain the Colors of Nature’.
SET will also provide intellectual capital and volunteers to these initiatives so that they run on a self sustainable model.
