Kritva 2008 , International Management Institute, India’s annual Management Festival will be held on the 30th November & 1st December, 2008 at the institute’s Campus at Qutub Institutional Area at New Delhi. The theme for Kritva ’08 is “Conditions Apply”.

The word Kritva means ‘to do’. And this is the spirit that is embodied in the annual management and cultural festival of IMI. Kritva attempts to act as a platform for future managers to voice their opinions and garner their thoughts through a plethora of events including paper presentation, management games, role plays, etc. The objective of the festival is to learn through interaction & apply the same to our lives.

Kritva 2008 will provide an opportunity for students to interact with distinguished people from various fields and know more about the business issues of concern to all of us. Besides this the students will interact amongst themselves by way of Formal & Informal interactions.

These interactions will be done through events such as “Rock ‘n Roll”, “Dramatics”,” Fashion Parade”, “Literati”, “Choreography” & “ Salsa Workshop”.

For those with a keen interest in Finance, there are three grand events lined up – URSA TARUS which is a floor trading game; LIFELINE – A scenario game, where the participant has to deal with the financial aspects of the cycle of growth, maturity and decline; and the MONEYMAZE – a financial treasure hunt. Marketing talents are as much into the game as Finance. The marketing events consist of ICONOCLAST – a video campaign contest, where the participants are to make thought provoking video ads addressing social issues ranging from smoking to female foeticide. The SMALL RAY OF HOPE is another event which addresses the social concerns, by asking the participants to devise a marketing plan for a CFL bulb.

The CRUSADER event is all about political marketing, and with the elections up so close, it couldn’t have been better timed. The Human Resource team has come out with two events – BAKE-OFF and JEUS-DE-ROLE, the former being a case study event, involving the practical aspects of real life corporate scenarios, and the latter being a live-in-his-boot game. The list is anything but over. The entrepreneurship cell of the college also play its part by hosting IMIZARIO – a cost allocation event, and LAUNCHPAD – which tests the participants’ wits with respect to starting up of a new business venture.

All of the events had national level prelims which saw over 300 entries each, from the various the B-schools. Kritva would see the finalists, from leading B-schools (IIMs, XLRI, MDI, FMS, etc to name a few) battling it out to prove who is the finest of all. Apart from these few Kritva has also been attracting undergraduate Colleges from Delhi/NCR and over 3000 Alumni and Corporate Partners of IMI, India.

All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy… and taking this into account, literally, Kritva ’08 would see Xtreme Gaming partnering with the Systems club of IMI to host a grand gaming extravaganza which would see the MBA grads and the Engineering grads fighting against each other in the virtual world, for the ultimate glory. They would be tested on all the games ranging from the classic Counter Strike to the just-released Need For Speed Undercover.

And of course , fest would cease to be a fest if there is not foot tapping. And yes, there would be an open choreo competition, which would see participation from both MBA and the UG colleges. Kritva nights would be adorned by Them Clones – a Delhi based rock band and other exciting on the spot events. For more details, log on to www.imikritiva.com, now!
