RTI Training Session at Pune
The Right To Information Act was enacted to ensure transparency and accountability in functiniong of public authorities. This transparency law is becoming popular day by day and achieving its goal of Informed Citizenry. Training on this sunshine act was held in IT Department of Indira Management Institute, Wakad Pune. Session was conducted by freelance writer and management faculty Avinash Murkute.
Tweet-- Training session on RTI was conducted on September 24 at IT Department of Indira Management Institute, Wakad Pune. The audiences were MCA students who try their hands on technology applications and had earlier undergone training session on E-Governance in India.
The training module included 5W & 1H (What, When, Who, Where, Why and How) of The RTI Act 2005. Students were exposed to various definitions, their meanings, sample application, procedure, fees, cost of information, timelines, appeals, sections, penalties, and related aspects. Interesting query from students included issues like hardship faced by them while driving two-wheeler with registration number of other states and corruption on roads.
Session was conducted by freelance writer and management faculty, Avinash Murkute, who has invoked various provisions of RTI on several occasions. Students were provided case studies and published success stories.
