TMI celebrates Seventh graduation ceremony with great enthusiasm and much fanfare. The ceremony brought festival mood among passing out cadets and their parents and also the beautiful TMI campus.

TMI conducts four year B.S. Marine Engineering degree program in association with BITS, Pilani. BITS, Pilani awards degree to successful candidates. With their placements intact, cadets bid adieu after staying four years on the campus.

Principal B. K Saxena welcomed the Chief Guest of the occasion Mr. Ajoy Chatterjee, Chief Surveyor, Govt. of India, and congratulated the successful cadets and advised them to work hard and bring glory to TMI, their companies and nation at large.

Ms. Sujata Naik Tolani, Vice Chairperson TMI Governing Council addressed the cadets and insisted them to be in touch with their alma mater, which could be beneficial to both Institute and Candidates. She urged them to excel in their profession to make TMI proud.

Mr. Indra Basu, Program Chair Marine Engg. gave the course report and highlighted the class of 2004-2008.

Out of the 141 graduating students, there were 18 Distinction holders and 81 First Division holders. The distinction holders received their certificates from the Chief Guest Mr Ajoy Chatterjee. All the other graduating cadets received their certificate from Guset of Honour DR BR Natarajan Professor and Dean from BITS Pilani.

Mr. Ajoy chaterjee, during his address informed the importance of quality manpower in ever increasing demands of the Maritime sector and steps to be taken to fulfill the requirement of the Ship owners in the form of good education and training. He congratulated TMI for its consistent improvement shown in providing quality maritime education and training.

Prof. B. R. Natarajan, Dean BITS read out the message by Vice Chancellor Dr. L. K. Maheshwari to graduating students and congratulated students for their feat.

Dr. N. P. Tolani, Visionary and founder of the institute graced the occasion and blessed students for their eventful future.

Capt. R. K. Razdan, Provost in his thanks giving message encouraged to face the challenge of sea life with head on and come with flying colours. He remembered the unstinting support from BITS, Pilani, D.G. Shipping, the placement partners, the sponsoring companies and the parents of successful candidates.

Mr. Ajoy chaterjee, before his address he distributed various awards, prizes and medals won by students. But star of the day was Mr. Ankur Miglani who grabbed most number of awards.
