The Stage-I of the Common Entrance Test (CET) for the MBBS programme of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), will commence from 3 pm instead of earlier notified 2 pm, on the same day i.e. June 8, 2008 (Sunday). The entrance test will now be held from 3 pm to 6 pm.

Almost 17,572 students will be appearing for the CET of MBBS programme for the 2008-09 academic session. For the first time, GGSIPU will be conducting the CET for its MBBS programme in two stages. Stage-I will be held on June 8, 2008 in eight cities this year including, Delhi, Noida, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Lucknow, Kolkata, Jaipur and Jalandhar, whereas, Stage-II of the entrance will be held only in Delhi for the short-listed candidates, on June 28, 2008 (Saturday) from 2 pm to 5 pm.

The Question paper for the MBBS-CET will have 200 objective-type (multiple choice and reason-assertion type) questions from Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology (50 questions from each subject). Each question will be provided with four alternative answers, out of which only one correct or most appropriate answer should be selected and marked on the Optical Mark Reader (OMR) answer sheet. Each question shall carry three marks and hence the test will be of 600 marks in total. There will be negative marking for incorrect answers. One mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

The result for the Stage-I of the entrance will be declared on June 15, 2008 on the University website and similarly for Stage-II it will be declared on July 7, 2008. The counselling for the MBBS programme will commence from July 22, 2008.
