The International Institute of Information Technology Signs a MOU with North Dakota State University (NDSU), USA

NDSU is a 117-year-old University and the State University in the North Dakota State. The University is primarily a research-intensive University with an annual investment of approx US$100-120 Million on research.

Pune, Maharashtra, December 21, 2007 /India PRwire/ -- The International Institute of Information and Technology located at Hinjewadi Pune has recently signed a MoU with the North Dakota state University(NDSU), USA. Joseph A. Chapman, President of North Dakota State University (NDSU), USA was present at the institute along with top delegates from NDSU to sign the formal academic collaboration between the two institutes.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Vijay Bhatkar, Chief Mentor of I2IT, said, “it’s a great honor to have such research-oriented collaboration especially in the area of Nano-technology, Robotics, Biotechnology, Embedded systems, VLSI, telecommunication and Computer Science”. He further added, “There is a need for the students exchange at master and research level”

Dr. Sudhir Mehta, Associate Vice President, has been with NDSU for over 23 years. He is now posted in India and will be a liaison person for developing and enhancing this collaborative effort.

NDSU is a 117-year-old University and the State University in the North Dakota State. The University is primarily a research-intensive University with an annual investment of approx US$100-120 Million on research.

They have 41 Doctoral Programs in addition to the existing 55 Masters Programs and more than 100 Undergraduate Programs.

Being an old University still having significant focus in the frontier areas like Nano-Technology, Robotics, Biotechnology and Bio-Informatics and other many areas. NDSU is one of the four select Universities in the US to have latest Super Computer Infrastructure.

The students carrying out MS Program at I2IT, Pune can do their final Internship at NDSU and after successful completion can pursue their Ph.D. and work at NDSU.

Faculties from both the institute can carry out joint research work. Students from both the institute can opt for semester(s)/projects. Both the institutes can jointly organize seminars, conferences, and lecture series besides; they can also hold international conference in the select front-end areas.
