Shobhit University running undergraduate and postgraduate courses in various disciplines in engineering as well as management at Meerut has always kept social welfare uppermost in their mind. The concern of the management for rural upliftment got further reflected when they took bold initiative to open second engineering college in 2000 & pharmaceutical institute in 2006 at village Gangoh in district Saharanpur to facilitate students from rural areas to get high technical education at a lower cost and also opening thereby employment opportunities as well as creating avenues for earning to local people. The visionary & adventurous step have brought transformation in rural landscape of their operation.
Continuing their efforts the management has started Adarsh Shobhit University Bima Dhan Scheme (Adarsh SUBIDHA Scheme) by taking Group Personal Accident Insurance Policy for insured amount of Rs.33 crore covering one thousand students enrolled in Shobhit University and all the three hundred staff both teaching and non-teaching categories. Students have been given insurance cover for Rs.1 lakh & their parents/guardians for Rs.2 lakh. Staff are covered for Rs.1 lakh. The rationale behind covering parent/financing guardian for Rs.2 lakh is to facilitate students to continue study in case of any eventuality arising due to accident. The risks covered by the insurer i.e. United India Insurance Co. Ltd. are death, total permanent disability & permanent partial disability. Even minor physical damage has also been covered.
Further, arrangement has also been made for free medical check-up of all insured from local empanelled doctors and also thorough medical examination on 8 February every year. Certificate of insurance duly signed by United India & its intermediary M/s Instant Healthcare Pvt. Ltd., New Delhi have been provided to all the insured to facilitate medical check-up from empanelled doctors whenever required. Such welfare gesture has generated a great deal goodwill over & above belongingness among stakeholders.
