Institute of Engineering & Emerging Technologies (IEET), Baddi, a premier institute in the northern region, today held the inauguration ceremony of Phase-III of the institute, state-of-the-art Seminar Hall and also organized the Techfest 'EMANATION-2006' at the institute campus here today. Mr. Rajesh Kumar, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Solan did the honours in a ceremony attended by a large number of students and local dignitories.

Mr. Ram Prasad Agarwal, Chairman, IEET, announced that the infrastructure for Courses of Pharmacy & Nursing was in advanced stage of completion at the institute and the courses would be opened to the students soon. He also announced that the institute had further plans to offer courses in Bio-Technology, Law, B.Ed. and other Para-Medical Sciences in the near future.

Located in close vicinity of the emerging IT-hub Chandigarh, IEET was established in 2002 in affiliation with HP University, Shimla and is now amongst the premier institutions in north India. The institute offers a total of 360 seats in the disciplines of Electronic & Communication Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. The institute also offers 60 seats for MBA under Institute of Management & Emerging Studies (IMES). The campus is spread over 40 acres of picturesque slopes at Village Makhnumajra, Baddi in Distt. Solan with a construction of over 3,50,000 sq. ft. comprising of academic block (lecture theatres, seminar rooms, tutorial rooms, laboratories, administrative & faculty offices & library) boys' & girls' hostels, faculty residences, guest house, canteen, open air theatre, auditorium, sports complex and other associated facilities.

The institute boasts of an experienced & qualified faculty, well equipped laboratories & facilities, huge central library, 24 hour high speed internet facility for students, separate hostel facilities for boys & girls and a Comprehensive Training & Placement Cell to cater to the professional needs & aspirations of students. The institute also provides Scholarship & financial support for meritorious and economically weaker students. IEET employs a rigorous teaching methodology of continuous evaluation of students and a regular feedback system with special emphasis on sports & extra-curricular activities to support the all round development of the students.

The inauguration ceremony witnessed a cultural program by the institute students and prizes were given away to students. The Chairman Mr. Ram Prasad Agarwal & the Secretary Mr. Gaurav Jhunjhunwala presented Mementos to the D.C., Mr. Rajesh Kumar. ***
