Formed in partnership with Aquatal Group Israel Ltd., Aquatal India is planning for a pan-India presence over next 2-3 years with 'PuroAqua' range of products. The company has launched products meant for all segments of the population with price band of Rs.1190 onwards.

Besides with Industrial growth and urbanization the quality of water in India is continuously depleting, making the water purification and filtration system a necessity in today's life. Approximately 80% of diseases in India are caused by water borne micro organisms. This is true in rural as well as urban India. However, awareness of health risks linked to unsafe water is still very low among the rural population.
Water purifying business is growing at over 20% percent (in India), RO segment is growing at a brisk rate of 25-30 percent. Sale of RO systems (and probably UV systems also), which provide better business margins to companies, will particularly remain bullish, thanks to lack of access to safe drinking water and wide prevalence of water borne diseases. It is estimated that around 80% of urban dwellers do not purify tap water. Many of them are from the lower income strata and cannot afford UV or reverse osmosis water purification systems.

The range of Aquatal products include RO purifiers, UF filtration, UF plus UV filtration, range of faucet filtration systems and other offline, online and Direct Flow systems. Considering the diversity of requirements, the company has launched products meant for all segments of the population with price band of Rs.1190 onwards.
Taking the opportunity in the industry segment the company is stressing the need to educate the consumer about water, water quality and contamination and to provide a right choice for the purification / filtration system which largely depends on the source of drinking water and its quality.
According to Mr. P Mohan - Vice President Marketing and Sales, the company is aiming for a turnover of Rs. 1000 million, in the third year of operations. He re-iterates "THE KEY TO MARKET STRATEGY WILL REMAIN TECHNOLOGY, QUALITY AND SERVICE TO THE CUSTOMER." The company has allocated over 10% of its revenues towards sales and promotional that largely includes print and electronic media.
