CONSTRO 2012 announces various contests
Constro 2012 The country's biggest international exhibition on Construction Machinery, Materials, Methods and Projects organized by Pune Construction Engineering Research Foundation (P.C.E.R.F.) has announced the various contests like Constro 2012 Entrance Gate Design, Constro Memento Design & Photography competition for Engineering and Architectural colleges and Design schools in Maharashtra.

The Chairman of Constro 2012 exhibition Mr. Naren Kothari and Mr. Shrikant Nivsarkar, President of PCERF said that, along with Constro 2012 Entrance Gate Design this is first time we are announce the Constro Memento Design & Photography competition. Through these competitions we are trying to enhance the participation of people in the exhibition. All the competition is open for all engineering, architecture, fine art, designing students as well as professional and amateur photographer with a free entry.
An entrance gate is an integral part of famous, monumental buildings. In our culture this face of personality is more important and vibrant. We would like students to display creativity in designing the gate for Constro 2012 to be held in Pune from 12th January to 15th January 2012, Mr. Kothari and Nivsarkar added.
Constro2012 will focus on following theme like Renewable Energies for Housing, Innovative & Lightweight construction technologies, Affordable housing, and sustainable construction. This competition is unique, as it gives an opportunity of real life professional practice scenario to students. The entire competition is organized around this idea. All the themes are open and student can choose from anyone or more of the themes. The competition entries are judged by senior professionals from the field of building industry.
Entrance Gate convener Mr. Makrand Godbole said that, the competition will be two stage competition. First stage will judge entries based on the concept of Gate. Winners of first stage will be given a further task of detailing, and resolving their concepts in a set of executable instructions. (Drawings and instruction). This year it is compulsory to have a guide from faculty for every team. This will ensure executable entries, without hampering creative streak.
Entrance gate competition prizes are in three categories. The winners will get Rs 21000 + Citation apart from the design being translated into the gate for the exhibition, the 2nd prize winner will get Rs 15,000+ Citation, 3rd Prize winner will get Rs 10,000+ Citation.
Memento convener Mr. Deepak Patankar informed that, the students have to make memento on the basis of theme of exhibition. Memento competition prizes are in two categories. The winners will get Rs.5000 + Citation; the 2nd prize winner will get Rs 3000 + Citation.
Photography contest convener Mr. R.D. Nagarkar, Mr. Sanjay Vaichal, Mr. Ramnath Bhat explains about the photography competitions that, this contest open for all professional as well as amateur photographers. The winner will get prizes and memento. The wining photos will be displayed during the Constro Exhibition.
Letters of intention to participate are expected by 30th August for Entrance Gate competition, Memento design competition by phone or email. The entry for Photography competition will be on till 30th September. The first phase of competition will be completed by the end of August. The entry form may be downloaded from the Constro Site.
