Mr. Yalamanchili Satyanarayana Chowdary, Chairman, Sujana Group of Companies today got elected to the Rajya Sabha on Telugu Desam Party ticket, unopposed. He is the only industrialist among the six candidates who got elected unanimously to the Rajya Sabha for a six-year term.

It is the vision and foresight of Mr. Chowdary who has successfully implemented his entrepreneurial skills to form a highly successful business house like the Sujana Group. A part from being a successful businessman himself, the 49-year-old Chowdary encouraged many individuals to turn entrepreneurial and set-up own industries over the years.

Mr. Chowdary, who is fourth in a family of five, is son of Mr. Y. Janardhana Rao, a retired Civil Servant from the State of Andhra Pradesh. A Mechanical Engineering graduate from Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology (CBIT - Hyderabad),and Post Graduate in Engineering from PDG College of Technology, Coimbatore, Mr. Chowdary started his career as an entrepreneur in the name of Sujana Domestic Appliances Limited.
Mr. Chowdary, whose personal interests range from community service and photography to reading and preserving antiques; is married to Smt Y. Padmaja and has a son and a daughter.
