Tweet-- MphasiS - an EDS Company, in partnership with Diversity & Equal Opportunity Centre (DEOC) and Association of People with Disability (APD), today announced the Project Communicate ‘Train the Trainer’ (TTT) programme. The program was inaugurated this morning and the lamp was lit by Jeya Kumar, CEO, MphasiS, an EDS company; Raghupathy, Department of Training and Employment, Government of Karnataka and Basavaraj, Director, APD.
This is a week long course from 10th to 16th November for 31 selected trainers from Government and Non-Government organizations spread across Karnataka and other parts of India. 23 people have come from cities as far as Agra, Kolhapur, Tirunelvelli, Jaipur, Coimbatore, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai and Hubli to get trained in the process of training and placement of people in the BPO industry.
“Train The Trainer” has been specially evolved to equip NGO trainers with soft skills, where it was felt, there exists a lacuna. It is the next logical step to Project Communicate, a program that was launched to bridge the existing gap in language skills and analytical abilities that people with disabilities face. The pioneering effort has enabled them to compete on equal footing with others. 3 batches of Project Communicate successfully completed by Diversity and Equal Opportunity Centre and Association of People with Disability translated in 80 people with disabilities trained and nearly all of them placed in MphasiS as well as other companies.
In order to share the knowledge gained through the Project Communicate Initiative, MphasiS decided to support DEOC to scale the program with TTT, and to thus create employability for persons with disabilities by building capacities of partners working on issues of Employment and Vocational Training spread across India.
The training faculty at TTT comprises of highly qualified and experienced corporate trainers. DEOC will provide continuous support to trainers for conducting the course in their respective areas. The course for TTT has been scientifically designed to ensure levels of confidence in the Trainers to further impart the required skills to the beneficiaries of the NGOs
The trainers will be trained in:
· Delivering the Project Communicate Module which comprises of Effective Communication, Analytical Skills, Computer Skills and Personality Development.
· Content and methodology of successfully training people tojoin the corporate world. (The trainers will be given the curriculum, facilitator's guide, worksheets / activities for conducting the course)
· Information about BPO Industry
· Methodology to work with companies to create an inclusive workplace.
Speaking about this initiative, Jeya Kumar, Chief Executive officer said “Creating an inclusive workplace is the key to our corporate mission. MphasiS’ goal is to have at least one percent of its work force comprised of people with disabilities. Our flagship programme Project Communicate has been a huge success. Taking this forward, we are supporting TTT.”
MphasiS, an EDS company, under its Corporate Social Responsibility, is committed to support this initiative not only for Bangalore also at other centres in Baroda and Indore. MphasiS will remain committed to creating an equal and inclusive environment for persons with disabilities.
