Boston Limited announces its sales office and integration centre for Indian market

Boston Limited, now in its 17th year as a distribution partner for silicon valley based Super Micro Computer, Inc. (NASDAQ: SMCI), today formally enters the Indian market with the announcement of Boston IT Solutions (India) Private Limited.

Mumbai, Maharashtra, October 28, 2009 /India PRwire/ -- Boston Limited, now in its 17th year as a distribution partner for silicon valley based Super Micro Computer, Inc. (NASDAQ: SMCI), today formally enters the Indian market with the announcement of Boston IT Solutions (India) Private Limited.

Based in Bangalore, Boston’s India headquarters have been set up to accommodate key engineering and sales staff in addition to localised stockholding, product spares and production facilities. In addition, Boston India is also up and running with a sales and marketing office in the Santa Cruz area of Mumbai where administrative support is enabled to work in unison with the other Boston locations worldwide.

“Boston’s launch into the Indian market is a significant step forward, strengthening Boston as an international brand within the Broadcast, HPC, server, storage, rendering and workstation arenas,” says Manoj Nayee, Managing director. “Our expansion to India has been driven by demand from systems integrators and OEM’s alike that have been looking to move away from reselling solutions offered by tier one manufacturers allowing them to add their unique values.”

“There appear to be far too many resellers marketing the same product range at extremely tight margins,” continues Nayee. “It is now dawning on many that this is not enough to sustain a business on its own. Resellers need to be able to control the products that they sell in terms of design, features and services in order to add value to their client base and thereby retain and help grow their respective businesses. We can help deliver that with the Supermicro range of leading-edge platforms.”

“Supermicro is pleased to see Boston’s expansion while further extending our strong partnership. Through this new development, we are able to better support customers in India and the nearby region,” said Wally Liaw, VP of Sales-International at Supermicro. “Our advanced technology and comprehensive product lines with Boston’s value-added solutions and services will provide a strong competitive edge to customers’ businesses.”

Boston offers a viable alternative by offering a non-compete strategy with its customers and providing high quality turnkey solutions that provide strong margin opportunities to resellers via own-brand solutions and appliances. Boston has the ability to manufacture a full product from the design stage all the way through to delivering and supporting products under the guise of our clients with global on-site warranty and service packages, coupled with localised systems integration and local product availability. Boston is well positioned to offer unique services to the serious solutions provider base, and a key objective is to offer valuable alternatives such as introducing a wide range of solutions from AMD.

“AMD India welcomes Boston to India with the opening of their office here. We look forward to working closely with them to provide AMD Opteron based products to our customers. Based on Supermicro’s leading range of AMD optimised servers, Boston’s solutions will harness today’s technology and the ones coming in the future,” said Ramkumar Subramanian, Sales & Marketing Vice President, AMD India.

In this current climate, the need for higher performance and lower energy is greater than ever. Boston can clearly demonstrate how the careful selection and adoption of the latest platforms can dramatically impact the total cost of ownership over the life of installation.

Boston will be exhibiting at this year’s Broadcast India 2009 show at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai India, between the dates of 20th – 31st October. Please feel free to meet with the team at stand B209.
