Minister for Health and Tourism of Gujarat state visited Veeda's unit in MPUH during the inauguration ceremony of the Uro-Oncology conference
Tweet -- Veeda Oncology marked its presence at the international symposium on 'Expanding the horizons of Indian Uro-Oncology'. This was a 3 day event and was inaugurated by Mr. Jayraman Vyas, Minister for Health and Tourism of Gujarat state. The symposium was organized by Nadiad based Muljibhai Patel Urological Hospital (MPUH) to launch its department of Uro-Oncology, a department which very few hospitals in India have.
Veeda has a clinical pharmacology unit at the MPUH which has 6 fully monitored beds and all the supporting facilities necessary for the safe conduct of clinical trials in renal impaired patients. "This new specialized department will be capable of treating patients with kidney, prostate and bladder cancer with the most modern techniques available globally and hence will open up a new realm for us for conducting clinical research on this special population", said Dr. Kiran Marthak, Director, Veeda.
MPUH, which is about 40 kms from Ahmedabad, is a premier institution providing health services in Urology and Nephrology including kidney transplantation and post graduate education centre for DNB. It has developed an affiliation with the University of Arkansas Medical Centre for ongoing collaboration and exchange. "When we started the hospital, we were dealing just in kidney related ailments, treatment of which has now become our expertise. We have already taken a lead in developing minimally invasive treatment in kidney and prostate cancer" explained Dr. Mahesh Desai adding "Now Uro-Oncology has become an independent sub-specialty in most part of the world".
