RMS Regrow's Cartilage Cell Treatment Helps State Level Cricketer to Return Back to Form
To illustrate the use and benefit of advanced cell therapy for treating sports injuries, Regenerative Medical Services Regrow (RMS Regrow), a leading Indian Stem Cell Therapy Services organisation, and Dr. Anant Joshi, a renowned Orthopedic Surgeon with a specialisation in Arthroscopy, Sports Medicine and Fitness Management, shared the success story of Ankit Parashar, State level (Madhya Pradesh) Cricketer, at the Cricket Club of India. Working together, Dr. Anant Joshi and RMS Regrow were able to successfully eradicate the pain using cartilage cell therapy, and after routine rehabilitation, Ankit Parashar would be back in action to play cricket by next month.
Tweet-- After experiencing acute pain in his left knee, Ankit Parashar was diagnosed with Osteochondritis Dissecans (OCD), joint disorder in which cracks form in the articular cartilage and the underlying subchondral bone, by Dr. Anant Joshi. Ankit Parashar went through two arthroscopic procedures in 2006 and 2007, but the relief was short-lived as the pain returned after a few months. As there was no relief experienced post the arthroscopy, Dr. Anant Joshi and Ankit Parashar approached RMS Regrow for using the new technology- Cartilage RMP - CHONDRON, a procedure in which patient's own 6-7mm cartilage tissue from normal femoral articular cartilage is collected, chondrocytes (cartilage forming cells) are cultured for over 4weeks, and implanted onto the defect in the patient's affected joint. .
Speaking at the conference about Osteochondritis Dissecans (OCD) Dr. Anant Joshi said, "In India before Cartilage RMP - CHONDRON, we had very little to offer for the players who were facing similar problems. The careers of many players have declined because of it but now with the therapy facilitated by RMS Regrow we have got new long term solution not only for athletes but also for others. Today we have got excellent MRI reports of Ankit's recovery and we hope to see Ankit playing long innings soon, as he was playing earlier."
Talking about the cell therapy, Mr. Satyen Sanghvi, Chief Scientific Officer, RMS Regrow said, "Cartilage RMP - CHONDRON is the most advanced autologous cartilage cell therapy which helps patients suffering from cartilage defects in knee and other joints problems, and in Ankit's case, we suggested the same to treat Osteochondritis Dissecans. The best part of this cell therapy is that it has no side effects as the implanted cells are patient's own cells and following a rehabilitation protocol, sportsmen can be given 100% pain relief and can achieve full mobility as the cartilage regenerates to hyaline or hyaline-like normal characteristic type of cartilage of pre-injury status."
While sharing his excitement of getting back to cricket, Ankit Parashar said, "I started experiencing pain in my left knee during one of the most important growth phases of my career. This largely affected my game as I was unable to play at a high level. Thanks to Dr. Anant Joshi and the advanced Cartilage RMP - CHONDRON therapy by RMS Regrow, I am back on my feet and feel confident to get back on the field again next month."
Following the stem cell therapy, Ankit Parashar continued to follow the rehabilitation protocols instructed by Dr. Joshi. After five months of observation, the results were found to be 100%. Ankit Parashar has been expected to resume playing cricket after one month subsequent to the phenomenal results of the stem cell treatment.
