Hero Electric participates in Delhi CM's initiative of "Green Transport" on World Environment Day

To commemorate World Environment Day, Delhi Government under the leadership of the Honorable Chief Minister, Mrs. Sheila Dixit organized a rally of electric vehicles in and around the city of Delhi to encourage the use of zero emission pollution free electric vehicles..

Noida, Uttar Pradesh, June 5, 2010 /India PRwire/ -- The rally was flagged off from CM's residence at around 7:30 am. Hero Electric (a subsidiary of $ 4.8 bn Hero Group) a market leader in Electric Two wheeler participated in the rally with 30 E-bikes to make this initiative by Delhi government a grand success.

On this occasion Mr. Sohinder Gill, CEO Hero Electric thanked the Delhi Government for giving subsidy and tax rebate which has led to growth of the Electric Vehicle industry as more than 30 thousand Electric vehicles are running in Delhi till date. "Hero Electric being a major player in promoting the cause of green transportation for a cleaner and greener environment welcomed this move by the Delhi government to encourage usage of Electric Vehicles. This initiative on world Environment Day will go a long way in making larger population shift to electric bike from the conventional fossil fueled bikes".
