The second Brandsmith vintage & classic bike drive is an initiative by leading brand promotions company Brandsmith, which also successfully manages the Statesman Vintage car rally apart from other national and international events, essentially to support, preserve & encourage vintage biking in India. "Vintage bikes are often neglected with large vintage collectors focusingmore on cars and hence Brandsmith came up with this drive so as to highlight & showcase these timeless machines, apart from providing the bikers their moment of glory," explained Rahul Mittra CEO Brandsmith.
With almost 55 entries so far, more than 40 bikes are expected to participate in this year,s drive at the Asiad Tower Complex, Khel Gaon on Friday 29th August, which has zero participation fee. The money is raised exclusively by Brandsmith to organise this drive. All entries are properly scrutinised by a vintage expert & judge of the statesman car rally-Gurinder singh, who is the chief judge of the rally.

More information on bikesparticipating in this year,s drive:
Indian Chief 1940 Most Powerful bike at the drive
1940, all models were fitted with the large skirted fenders that became an Indian trademark, and the Chief gained a new sprung frame that was superior to rival Harley's unsprung rear end. The 1940s Chiefs were handsome and comfortable machines, capable of 85 mph(136 km/h) in standard form and over 100 mph (160 km/h) when tuned, although their increased weight hampered acceleration.
Sunbeam S7
The engine layout was the unusual feature. The engine was an inline 500cc twin which drove a shaft drive to the rear wheel. The inline engine made this technologically feasible - horizontally-opposed ("flat") twin engines on BMW motorcycles had already used shaft drives. The original S7 was produced from 1946 to 1948 and did not sell well. In 1949, the sportier S8, with standard-sized wheels rather than the fat tyres of the S7, and BSA type front forks, was produced.SEN 1898 The oldest Motorcycle at the Drive
Corgi 1947
built for the British armed forces to be used by air commandos and paratroopers. Powered by a 98cc Villiers Sprite two-stroke engine the scooter had 12.5 inch wheels and a folding control column, and was extremely compact, having been designed to fit inside a cylinder of only 15 inches diameter. Weighing in at a mere 70 pounds, they had a range of 90 miles and could achieve 30mph
