Kolkata, West Bengal, November 16, 2016 /India PRwire/ -- Aradhana Dalmia of The Artemist and the Robin Hood Army shared the joy of Children's Day with more than 150 underprivileged kids who participated in the Winter Sun & Fun Colouring Competition below the Hastings Flyover (in front of RCTC out gate) on 13th November, Sunday. Kids enjoyed their time with colours and explored their artistic side at the event. The competition was held in two categories; Category A for kids between 5 to 7 years and Category B for kids between 8 to 10 years. Aradhana Dalmia who is an artist herself loved judging the competition. "The Artemist deals with all art related things and as it was Children's Day, I wanted to do a special Children's Day drive for awareness. I am also a member of Robin Hood Army and have been associated with their food distribution drive. It was a great feeling to see the smiles on these children's faces when they were colouring their sheets. They all were eager to show me their colouring sheet," said Aradhana Dalmia of The Artemist who also expressed her thanks to Tavishi Saraf of Citrine - The Multi Designer Store for contributing more than 300 food packets.

Kids participating in the competition were provided with drawing books, colouring sheets and crayons. They along with 150 additional kids and family were provided lunch, sweets and stationery at the event. The Kolkata chapter of Robin Hood Army has always been actively organising such events for the underprivileged kids.

About Robin Hood Army

The Robin Hood Army is an organisation founded by Kolkatan Neel Ghose that collaborates with restaurants and corporates to distribute food packets to the underprivileged and sick. It is a volunteer-based organisation that works to get surplus food from restaurants across to the less fortunate people. Their local chapters are run by friends and colleagues who hope to create a difference in their own small way. Their volunteers are largely students and young working professionals. The lesser fortunate sections they help include homeless families, night shelters, orphanages, and patients from public hospitals. The RHA is a very decentralised organisation and does not accept monetary contributions- they just need your time.
