'FineToons' - cartoon exhibition of Sri Naganath inaugurated at the Indian Institute of Cartoonists
Naganath is a freelance cartoonist, who started his career with cartoons at the age of 16. For the last 20 years, more than 5,000 of his cartoons have been published in leading English and Kannada publications.
Tweet -- The Indian Institute of Cartoonists is organising Finetoons, an exhibition of cartoons by Naganath G S. The inaugural function of this exhibition will was held on April 6, 11.30 am at the Indian Cartoon Gallery, No1, Midford House, Midford Garden, Near Big Kids Kemp. The exhibition was inaugurated by V Manohar, noted music director. Naganath is a freelance cartoonist, who started his career with cartoons at the age of 16. For the last 20 years, more than 5,000 of his cartoons have been published in leading English and Kannada publications. His works Metro Masala and Nagara Pradakshine highlighted the problems of city life. Naganath's cartoons are popular because of his experimental technique and colour.
“Cartoonist G S Naganath is a repository of talent as he is all –in-one- an illustrator, caricaturist, character designer and an animator,” said VG Narendra, President, Indian Institute of Cartoonists during the inauguration of the fortnight long exhibition of Naganath’s cartoons called ‘Fine toons’, at the Indian Cartoon Gallery at MG Road here today.
The exhibition, which is based on real life situations faced by common man, was inaugurated by renowned Kannada film industry’s music director, V Manohar.
G S Naganath is a well-known freelance cartoonist from Karnataka. He started publishing his cartoons and cartoon strips at his age of 17. So far more than 5,000 cartoons are published in all the leading magazines like Times of India, Prajavani, Sudha, Mayura, Udayavani, Kasturi, Utthana, and so on. He also does caricatures. His first cartoon published in Sudha weekly magazine.
From a fine art background, Naganath has worked many years in Advertising agencies, Multimedia organizations, web development organization and now since last 10 years he is working as a visual designer at leading Software Company in Bangalore. To the general public he is familiar with his cartoons, but he is also familiar for advertising and corporate institutions as an illustrator, character designer, animator and caricaturist.
Naganath has won many an accolade for his work. He has also served as Secretary, Karnataka Cartoonists Association from 2001 to 2005.
The ‘Fine toons’ exhibition will be on till April 21 at Indian Cartoon Gallery, No 1 Midford House, Behind Big Kids Kemp, Off MG Road, Bangalore. Ph: 4175 8540
