Come July and the 3rd edition of the internationally acclaimed Sugar Asia exhibition on sugar and allied industries will be held at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi. Says, VK Bansal, Director of Nexgen Exhibitions, the organizers of the event, "Sugar Asia has become a seminal event in the international calendar of sugar and allied industry events. This year too it is expected to attract a number of companies from India and abroad hailing from the farming, sugar, co-generation, and distillery and ethanol industries. They will be provided a unique platform to exchange views and showcase their expertise. A regular feature of the exhibition is the international conference. On day 1, (9th July) of the conference whose main theme is Meeting the Challenges of Sugarcane Production in India, Engineering and Processes will be discussed and on day 2(10th July) Sugarcane will be focused upon. The conference is being organized under the aegis of National Federation of Cooperative Sugar Factories Limited to commemorate their Golden Jubilee Celebration. This celebration ceremony is being inaugurated by Hon'ble Union Minister of finance, Shri Pranab Mukherjee and presided over by the Hon'ble Union Agriculture Minister, Shri Sharad Pawar."A number of high profile guests from Sugar Sector , Members of Indian Sugar Mills Association, officials from Ministry of Agriculture, Food,Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution are also likely to join the inauguration. A large gathering from India and abroad shall also be visiting expo to see for themselves the latest developments carried out by Indian Equipment Manufacturers.
Sugar Asia is the only international exhibition of its kind in the economically important South Asia region. It provides a rare opportunity for a display of the latest technology and equipment available in India and abroad. That apart it is a wonderful platform for manufacturers, sellers and re-sellers of finished products, as well for displaying improved variety of cane sugar for the benefit of importers from various countries.
It is also a great opportunity to get to know about new varieties of cane, as well as evolving patterns of cane harvesting and clearing. On display will be new technologies and products relating to distillation, ethanol processing and power generation as well reduction of green house emissions. Equipment pertaining to cane farming and sugar manufacturing will of course get pride of place.
