Bruce Agra Is Expanding in Sustainable Agriculture and Green Energy
Tweet-- KINCARDINE, CANADA--(Marketwire - March 30, 2010) - Bruce Agra Inc. www.bruceagra.com and Andersen Corporation www.andersenwindows.com announced today they had entered into an agreement finalizing Bruce Agra's purchase of the Anderson owned Dashwood Industries Ltd. facilities located in the Municipality of South Huron, Ontario. This 330,000 square foot complex will initially accommodate Bruce Agra's subsidiary Canadian Bio-Cube Ltd. www.bio-cube.com.
The south portion of the complex will continue to serve the needs of Andersen Corporation's Dashwood Industries Ltd. and the north portion will serve as the central packaging and direct global marketing complex for locally grown value added agricultural products. By establishing this complex Bruce Agra Inc. completes the circle as guided by Canadian Agra's "Integrated Agricultural Concept" www.canadian-agra.com (producing - processing and direct marketing of agricultural products). In addition, this complex will be energy neutral through a sophisticated photovoltaic system, generating up to 1.5 MW of electricity per hour, to offset the energy usage of this facility.
One of the first products packaged and marketed from this complex is produced by Bruce Agra Inc.'s subsidiary, Bruce Agra Dehy Inc., which operates a 'state of the art' low temperature dehydration plant at the Bruce "Energy Centre" ECO Industrial Park located adjacent to the Bruce Power Plant BNPD near Kincardine, Ontario. This dehydration plant was specifically designed to add value to locally grown crops using waste steam energy from the Power Plant. This co-generation concept is the vision of Mr. Sam MacGregor, a local entrepreneur, Ontario Hydro, The Province of Ontario and an Austro-Canadian investor and leader in agricultural investments. The concept serves to provide a secondary use for some of the steam energy produced for the generation of electricity which would otherwise be discharged into Lake Huron, thus making a contribution to the environment as well as lowering the cost of processing.
Bruce Agra Inc., a regional agricultural "added value" conglomerate in South Western Ontario with main interests in Bruce, Huron, Perth, Oxford, Middlesex, Elgin, Lambton, Kent-Chatham, and Essex counties shares with Andersen Corporation a vision of sustainability and environmental protection.
Bruce Agra Inc. would like to thank the Municipality of South Huron for their support.
