Hindustan Syringes & Medical Devices Ltd. (HMD) is Asia’s largest syringe manufacturing company. HMD’s standard disposable syringe "DISPOVAN" is the only established brand name in the syringe market in India. The company manufactures over 1.2 Billion syringes per annum at its multiple manufacturing locations in Ballabgarh (Haryana). In 2003, under the license from Star Syringe of UK, HMD started manufacturing K1- the first non-reusable also known as Auto-disable (AD) syringe in India. HMD markets these AD Syringes under the Kojak Selinge brand name, which is the most popular & visible brand name in non-reusable syringe market in India & other countries as well.
