Western Railway's freight earning went up to Rs.22.6 billion in the first seven months this fiscal, an increase of 20.58 percent over the corresponding period last year.

Western Railway's freight earning went up to Rs.22.6 billion in the first seven months this fiscal, an increase of 20.58 percent over the corresponding period last year.
An official statement released here Monday said Western Railway has registered a 10.55 percent growth in freight loading during the period.
Freight loading for the period was 26.92 million tonnes as against 24.35 million tonnes during corresponding period last year, the statement said.
Major commodities carried during the period under review were coal 2.79 million tonnes, fertilisers 7.97 million tonnes and mineral oil 5.96 million tonnes.
