Delphi Corp to make auto electronic components in India
Global auto component major Delphi Corp will invest Rs.2.5 billion to manufacture automobile electronic components near here, said a company official here Monday.

Global auto component major Delphi Corp will invest Rs.2.5 billion to manufacture automobile electronic components near here, said a company official here Monday.
'We will leverage our global relationships with foreign automobile manufacturers that have plants in India to sell our products. We will also supply electronic components to our overseas customers,' Delphi India president and managing director Ashok B. Ramaswamy told reporters.
The plant, spread over 10 acres, will come up at Oragadam near here. To be built in three phases, it is expected to start operations by 2009-end.
In the first phase, the company will produce immobilisers, body computers, instrument clusters and driver information systems, followed by safety and entertainment products.
According to Delphi Asia Pacific president Jeff Ownes, the Indian small car segment volume is expected to triple in the next five years and India is a key market for the company.
