The Kerala government will set up an electronics park in Kasargod district, state Industries Minister Elamaram Kareem said here Friday.
The park will come up near the proposed strategic electronic manufacturing factory of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), the foundation stone for which will be laid Saturday.
'The government will acquire 500 acres for the electronic park. We have asked the Kinfra (Kerala Industrial Infrastructure Development Corp) to acquire the land,' the minister said addressing reporters here.
The electronic park is expected to house ancillary industrial units which will come up following the opening of the strategic electronic manufacturing factory of HAL.
HAL's unit is expected to be operational in the third quarter of next fiscal year.
