Equity markets slip into red early afternoon
Indian equity markets slipped into the red Thursday afternoon after opening with a gain. Technology, capital goods and metal stocks came under selling pressure.

Indian equity markets slipped into the red Thursday afternoon after opening with a gain. Technology, capital goods and metal stocks came under selling pressure.
At 12:30 p.m., the 30-share benchmark index of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), the Sensex, was at 14,791.77, down 150.51 points or 1.01 percent from its closing figure Wednesday. It had touched a high of 15,130.09 earlier in the day.
At the same time the broader based S and amp;P CNX Nifty index of the National Stock Exchange was at 4444.20, down 32.60 points or 0.73 percent from its previous close.
However, the market breadth was positive. On BSE, 1,303 shares advanced, 1,134 declined and 68 remained unchanged.
