The All-India Jamiatul Quresh (AIJQ), a Muslim community mainly engaged in the dairy, meat and leather industry, will organise a nationwide rally here Sunday to address problems faced by its members.
AIJQ president Sirajuddin Qureshi will preside over the rally at the Ram Lila grounds. It would highlight the problems faced by Muslims in general and the Quresh community in particular.
'The AIJQ rally would highlight the general apathy of both central and state governments towards the industry and more specifically the harassment to the community in the transport of livestock.
'The community members are often arrested on flimsy grounds and their livestock confiscated using draconian laws like the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act,' Qureshi said in a press statement here Saturday.
The group will formulate its strategy at the rally and draw action plans. People from across the country are expected to participate.
